Fluoroscopy uses ionising radiation to obtain real-time moving diagnostic images to evaluate the function and structure of the internal body. It is often done while contrast media moves through the part of the body being examined. The contrast medium is barium sulphate, water-soluble, or iodine based. Fluoroscopy procedures diagnose and monitor medical conditions.
